Couple of good, couple of bad. I never used any type of numbing products before, so I prepared and used some green soap side by side with this. Over the course of a 4 hour session, I used the two types of soap alternately starting with green soap. I did not feel any of the numbing effects from this soap. In fact, there is a bit more sting when first applying this soap when compared to green soap. After application, I did not notice ramping up of numbing effects either. While it cleans just as good as green soap, and I do appreciate the antiseptic property of this soap. As tattoo soap, I am happy to use this, but I would not really tout the numbing property since I really did not notice any numbing.

It kinda works?It does seem to help with surface level pain. I haven't used numbing for any of my other tattoo so I dont have anything to compare it to numbing wise.It does smell nice and it has nice ingredients. Its natural and antimicrobial.It comes in a decent size bottle and would last a while.Overall may help for some. Its a nice product. Decent value

Important to know that the 4% ingredient is lidocaine. I read the ads, and the box. There is nowhere where it says that. It states it on the actual bottle, but nowhere else that I have seen. I bought this thinking it was 100% botanical ingredients and zero lidocaine. As far as function, it does take the edge off of the tattoo process, but is not a complete numb. It also helps with the first few days of aftercare. I wouldn't purchase this if you're looking for full numbing.

At the time of place neither this was $17 and I got it because somebody in our family get tattoos and was scheduled to get one about the same time I was able to order this. Her artist wasn't comfortable using this during the tattoo but said they thought it would be very good as part of the aftercare routine.We've used other tattoo products from Poked and have always had good experience with it so using this numbing tattoo soap seems to be the next natural step in skin care for us. After the tattoo this was used as part of the ongoing routine for cleaning and maintaining the skin. My niece said her skin felt hydrated and clean without any tightness or tingling, she said she felt a soothing effect, however wouldn't compare it to something you might see from a medicinal or prescriptive application.We had tested this soap out on her regular skin before applying it to the tattooed skin. She had no reaction when using it. It's been 3 weeks and since it's summertime we're being super careful with keeping the tattoo moist and covered so it does get impacted or too much sun. This so is great for her to have because it makes skin care one step easier for her.

Honestly - I read the description and didn't see anything about Tattoo soap, so I though I would try this for just what it touted - a comfort enhancing soap with Soothing Botanicals. My GF and I both tried it - about 1/2 hour in, we did sense that there was a difference in the are we applied it (poking and scratching the area felt actually quite different than other areas). I have a couple tattoos and don't recall anyone applying this prior to, or suggesting something like it after, yet I feel it may very well have helped more than the Vaseline type application did.

I loved my Poke healing ointment so I was really excited about this. Used it and my 1 complaint is there is zero pain reduction in this product. No numbing. I think it's a cheap way into a tattoo chair. Besides not doing that part, it worked really well. Id like to try the original formula.

I ordered Poked Maximum Strength Comfort Enhancing Soap to use for my most recent tattoo. It has a subtle scent. I didn't feel much numbing, but maybe I just didn't apply as much as I needed. It is a little pricey, but so are other tattoo soaps. I do feel like maybe my skin felt better after the tattoo like maybe the soothing did something. It didn't cause any irritation to my sensitive skin.Overall, I probably wouldn't purchase it again. I would be willing to try it again with more layers of the product to see if that changes my experience.

So odd to a good start!One thing I noticed is that it helped take the edge off minor irritation. I didn’t experience a dramatic numbing effect, but it did seem to calm stinging from small scratches, irritated skin, and even a mosquito bite. It wasn’t a complete “I can’t feel anything” situation, but there was definitely some relief. So after a tattoo you can get relief from stinging and irritation. During? Maybe a little.The lather was good, it rinsed clean, and my skin felt comfortable afterward. I also like the bottle. That’s not the most important thing in the world, but if it’s sitting in my bathroom every day, I don’t mind when the packaging looks nice.For me, the biggest positives were the scent, the moisturizing feel, and the way it helped soothe irritated skin. We don't use this to numb but I use this during the tattoo process to help ease the pain and it really works once you wipe the tattoo with this product. It eases the sting

The pump is easy to use with no issues.This is meant to constantly be reapplied during the tattoo experience and for aftercare, it's convenient that this is versatile, but also inconvenient, that has to be reapplied so many times. I've used other numbing agents that worked well after the first application.This has some really great skin loving ingredients and the price is good for what you receive. However, I wouldn't count too much on this being pain relieving. There might be some better alternatives on the market.
